Geographical location
Mostaganem is located in the northwest of Algeria and covers an area of 2,269 km², bounded by :
- East: the states of Chlef and Relizane
- South: the states of Relizane and Mascara
- West: the states of Camp and Oran
- North: the Mediterranean Sea.
The climate
The climate of the state is characterized by a semi-continental climate with mild winters, ranging from 350 mm to 400 mm in the heights of the Dhahra Mountains.

Hunting
The coast of Mosteghanemi is full of enormous fisheries wealth, but the annual production estimated at 3000 tons per year shows us the lack of good exploitation of this wealth, and this is due to the lack of financial capacity for fishing as well as basic structures for fishing. The State is building a new port to revitalize this sector, but work is currently suspended.

Tourism
Mostaganem, this coastal city, records a high number of tourists every year, characterized by the beauty of the sea and the benefits of picturesque nature. Some of its pristine and extensive beaches are still undeveloped amidst beautiful landscapes.it also enjoys vast areas in the east along Jabal Al-Dhahra and coastal cliffs and forests, in addition to a fertile area (Al Maqtaa) that hosts many types of migratory birds in winter. The state has a coastal strip that extends for a length of 124 km. In 2011, there were about 21 beaches open for swimming, while others are in a natural state, as the majority of them enjoy the presence of forests in addition to a western touch on the landscape, which is embellished with sand dunes on the beaches.
Most of the sites in the state of Mostaganem have breathtaking views that are distinguished by a succession of natural beaches and intermittent, in addition to the cliffs overlooking the wadi Chlef which flows into the sea. Also, the natural areas, forests, and rivers, as for them, represent wonderful tourist values, so that the state of Mostaganem is entitled to become a major tourist pole of western Algeria. Thermalism: On the other hand, the region has many underground mineral springs, so this aspect can be exploited to ensure and support the development of unexploited tourism.
